The Founder’s Story
Henry Mbiti
Every safari company begins with one person who simply cannot stop sharing the place they love. For us, that person is Henry Mbiti.
Henry Mulu is a dedicated and passionate Tour Guide with over 25 years of hands-on experience in the travel and tourism industry. Over the years, he has had the privilege of leading a wide variety of tours, from wildlife safaris to birdwatching expeditions, always aiming to create unforgettable experiences for his clients. He holds advanced skills in both defensive and advanced driving, which ensures that every journey he leads is not only exciting but also safe and smooth.
So he built Mbiti Africa Safaris in Nairobi around a simple idea. Put African people at the centre of the journey, and the journey changes. Today, Henry still shapes how we plan, guide and care for every guest.

The Name
Mbitimeans hyena
Our name comes from one of Africa’s most misunderstood animals. We chose to wear it with pride, because the hyena is everything we want to be for our guests.
